Job Description
Under the supervision of the Chief Academic Officer the Dean of Instruction will provide instructional support and curriculum assistance to staff as well as other stakeholders. Assist the schools in strengthening instructional programs through a strategically planned, standards-based approach with a focus on narrowing the achievement gaps. This position will provide leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment development, planning, professional development, coaching, and social development.
Essential Functions
- Knowledge of and ability to unpack, interpret and translate grades 6-12 ELA content standards
- Apply principles of adult learning to facilitate the professional growth of team members
- Knowledge of and the ability to lead teachers in developing effective lesson plans
- Engages staff in intensive data analysis and results planning
- Assist with data organization from all assessments and diagnostics instruments and develops strategies for intervening with students who are experiencing difficulties
- Implements and supports the goals determined by RMP Academic Improvement Plan
- Works collaboratively with other educators to integrate educational initiatives and resources
- Assists in program implementation and curriculum development
- Assists schools in determining effective methods for integration of curriculum standards, instructional strategies, and the development use of authentic assessment
- Models a variety of instructional strategies designed to be rigorous and mirror assessment
- Assist in identifying professional development needs and developing long-range professional development plans
- Provide personalized, small group and whole group professional development
- Develop and manage tiered interventions to support student growth
- Provide monthly data reports to the leadership team
- Cultivate positive relationships with parents and students and encourage strong teacher-student-parent relationships and effective communication systems
- Work with the Principal, counselor, staff, students and parents toward a positive school climate
- Attends and participates in various leadership team meetings
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and in writing with clarity and conciseness
- Ability to effectively support teaching staff

Positions Requirements
Preferred candidate will have a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, educational leadership or equivalent, experience in coaching teachers to successful outcomes and a track record of implementing best practices to achieve student success.

Terms of Employment
